I am a long-time photographer, computer nerd and intrepid traveler, who has been to all 50 US states, 11 Canadian provinces and 73 countries around the globe (and still counting). The photos on this site represent just a few of the many travel photos in my portfolio. I hope you will enjoy looking at them and reading about my experiences as I captured them.

In and out on the same day. All is well although it may be a slightly different story when the heavy duty painkillers wear off. Perhaps not as easy as my hip replacement last April but I want to be ready for whatever future travel adventures come along.

While many of the leaves have already fallen, ther While many of the leaves have already fallen, there's just a little bit of fall color left. And it's a bit of orange and red to celebrate an amazing victory! Thanks to everyone who took the time and made the effort to vote, no matter who you supported. Democracy is still alive and well. God bless the USA!

Autumn scenery while riding the rails of the Denve Autumn scenery while riding the rails of the Denver & Rio Grande between Durango and Silverton, Colorado (2003). While it's always a spectacular journey, it is particularly beautiful in autumn. If you've never taken that train ride, put it on your bucket list!
One of the "locals" preparing to lay down and watc One of the "locals" preparing to lay down and watch the sunset the other night. A face only a mother could love! This is a javalina or collared peccary. They are social creatures that live and travel in herds (apparently known as squadrons, averaging between 6 and 9 animals, often including babies ) and eat roots, grubs, and other stuff including prickly pear cactuses. They can identify each other by their strong odors but they don't see very well. I only spotted 2 of them when I took this photo.

Abandoned cabin in the Capitol City, Colorado, gho Abandoned cabin in the Capitol City, Colorado, ghost town (2007). Reached from the Alpine Loop between Silverton and Lake City, Colorado. It's a 4-wheel drive road and not necessarily for the faint of heart over two 13,000+ foot passes. However, it is an incredibly beautiful drive and I had the privilege of doing it twice some years ago. Note that I was not the driver!
The Jenne Farm in Reading, Vermont (2013). Sadly, The Jenne Farm in Reading, Vermont (2013). Sadly, this road is now closed during "leafing" season due to the misbehavior of hordes of uncaring Instagramers and other photographers who blocked road access, left trash and trampled through private property just to get their selfies and other shots. Back in 2013 it was relatively unknown and we were the only people there the afternoon I shot this.
