Charleston part 3. The Old Exchange and Provost Du Charleston part 3. The Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon with a charming costumed guide to explain its Revolutionary War history, a tour of the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier, and a quick trip to Myrtle Beach to ride turtles 😄 and see the very entertaining Carolina Opry.

We were told it was an early bloom for the azaleas and folks who might show up at the usual dates to view the colors would be greatly disappointed.

Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, horse drawn carriages,  colorful azaleas, historic homes and the ever present Spanish moss. Also massive crowds of green clad partiers in town to celebrate the upcoming (3 days away) St. Patrick's Day, which we hadn't planned for.
Last week we visited the Biltmore House in Ashevil Last week we visited the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC, with our friends Paula Hunter and Yoli Holt. It is the largest privately owned home in the United States. Completed in 1895, it spans 178,926 square feet, has 250 rooms including 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, and 65 fireplaces, as well as a swimming pool and 2 lane bowling alley. It was built for George Washington Vanderbuilt and is still owned by his descendants.

Usually, unless there's smoke or extreme humidity haze, it's difficult to get anything but a white ball, even if you underexpose like I did here. Taken on my new Galaxy S26 phone.

One year ago today we were visiting Antelope Canyo One year ago today we were visiting Antelope Canyon as part of a 2 week southwest trip.  At the time, we were just traveling buddies. Now we have a wonderful life together. We have come a long way in a  year.
